It can feel like a big step to meet with a counselor for the
first time...
...
and let's face it, most of us aren't thrilled about
looking for help outside of our usual support from family and
friends. But if you have already used that support and still
find yourself struggling or out of sorts, then you may want to
consider the many advantages that can come from working with a
professional counselor. Counseling provides a unique kind of
relationship that is distinctly different from those we have
with friends and loved ones. |

Once you decide to use a counselor, there is still the
question "Who do I choose?" Of course you want to find someone
who's capable of helping you with your specific issues. But
counseling usually includes discussing some things that are
sensitive and personal, so it's also important that you're
comfortable and feel at ease with your therapist. That's
almost impossible to know based on a website, brochure, or
even a recommendation from a friend.
So, I encourage you to take advantage of a no cost introductory meeting with me.
This will give you a chance to get to know me a bit and will
also help us to determine if my skills, experience, and
approach to therapy are a good fit for you. |
